Forgotten Lessons from the Constitutional Convention: What worried Ben Franklin about giving small states equal political power as large states

During the Constitutional Convention in 1787, Ben Franklin was concerned that giving states equal power regardless of their populations would allow a minority to rule a majority.

Fast forward to 2020:

The GOP Senate majority represents a minority of citizens & the economy.

The protagonists of the United States—the real Founding Fathers—did not want the gov’t we got.

Today, contrary to the vision of James Madison, Ben Franklin, Alexander Hamilton, George Washington et al, a minority overpowers a majority of citizens.

Our federal government is flawed at its very core.

No change is possible without empowering the majority of citizens.
